Become a Volunteer Relief Driver

 

Looking for a rewarding volunteering opportunity? Southern Cross Care is seeking compassionate, people-oriented relief drivers for our Care Car program to cover scheduled leave and holidays for our regular driving team.

 

By delivering safe, accessible, and age-friendly transportation in our modern, fully-maintained fleet, our volunteers play a vital role in supporting older adults to stay healthy and active in the community.

 

 

We Are Seeking Volunteers Who Are:

  • People-Oriented Individuals: You thrive on interacting with others, possess clear communication skills, and demonstrate patience and empathy.
  • Available: You are generally available Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm.

Essential Requirements (To ensure client safety and well-being):

 

To join our team of volunteer drivers, you will need:

  • A current C-class driver's licence with a good driving history.
  • A current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care.
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate.

Note: We can assist you in obtaining these documents and qualifications.

Suitable for Centrelink participants.
