About the role The Mentor and Trainer - Registered Nurse role focuses on supporting new nursing and care staff to ensure they are capable of performing their duties which will in turn secure a competent and appropriately skilled workforce. - Provide mentoring via both face to face and remote sessions (e.g. zoom) to
new nursing staff (RN,EN,PCW, HCA) and students within SCC Services. - Liaise closely with other staff in the education team to monitor staff needing
support - Compete competencies for staff as required for individual roles
- Maintain records and reporting requirements within the role
- Conduct training where required- face to face and remote (e.g. zoom)
- Provide updates as required to relevant stakeholders on student progression
escalating any concerns to management in a timely manner - Conduct orientation for new staff/ students as required
- Maintain accuracy of all trainee records and evaluations
- Comply with all organisational policies and procedures
- Other duties within the level of competence and training required for this role
- Contribute to the review, update and creation of learning content in different
methodologies - Ensure training alignment to policy and procedure
For further details about the role, please refer to our website or the attached position description. About you The successful candidate will possess the following: - Bachelor of Nursing with current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse with previous experience in the aged care sector
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deliver training and support on a 1 on 1 basis and to groups
- Demonstrated commitment to meeting the needs of both internal and external customers
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Proficient computer skills including the ability to use the Google suite specifically Docs, Sheets, Gmail and other in-house databases
- Current driver's licence
- Training and competency knowledge base required for nurses in Aged care
- A working knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
