About the role
Our Care Support Team fills various shifts in our 17 high quality aged care homes across Adelaide. In this role, we offer you the flexibility to achieve your ideal work-life balance, as well as all the benefits of working for a major non-for-profit organisation.
You will be required to work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking general cleaning duties for the provision of high quality housekeeping services, which is vital to the health and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff.
You will remove rubbish, maintain hygiene, dust and polish furniture, clean wet areas and mop, sweep and vacuum floors.

Previous experience in cleaning/food services assistant role will be essential.
Adequate communication skills with a level of English literacy to speak in a manner that older people can understand and to be able to read written instructions.
Time management to manage own workload, without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time.
Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and also basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards will be highly regarded.
All Southern Cross Care employees also require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care.
