About the role

 

As a Personal Care Worker with Southern Cross Care, you will be responsible for providing personal care to a variety of residents in our residential care facility.

 

You will assist residents with daily life tasks – from choosing clothes and showering to personal hygiene and dressing. You will also help them get around with assisted lifting, mobility and transport.

 

Working with other health team members to identify and address the needs, choices and problems of those in your care, you will follow plans and keep records while preserving privacy, dignity and rights.

 

The key to this role are collaboration, awareness and flexibility. You love to train and be trained and you are renowned for nailing every detail.

 

About you

 

You have:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support /Aged Care
  • Strong team orientation and the desire to serve.
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Previous experience working with residents with dementia will be highly regarded.

Equally comfortable with direction and autonomy, you display initiative, integrity and a superior work ethic plus impressive organisation, multi-tasking and most importantly, relationship-building skills.
