Right now we are looking for an experienced and accredited Exercise Physiologist to join our team at The Pines and Bucklands, North Plympton.


About the Role


As part of a multidisciplinary team, this role presents a great opportunity to design and deliver health and exercise programs for Southern Cross Care clients that help them achieve their goals.  You will ensure the delivery of high quality health and wellness services, undertake holistic health and wellness assessments as well as screen and set goals to identify the needs of each customer.


The Exercise Physiologist will use best practice, evidence-based tools to plan and deliver high quality, tailored individual and group exercise services and you will take a proactive approach to supporting and enabling customers to access services that maximise their independence and improve and maintain their health, wellness and quality of life. Overall, you will strive to empower customers to set and achieve meaningful goals to improve their physical function and quality of life, and support the delivery of early intervention programs that ensure customers at risk of frailty are identified early and are supported to bounce back.


Utilising your broad knowledge and understanding of the effects of exercise interventions in managing chronic and complex clinical presentations, you will also be responsible for leading others and providing direction to staff, volunteers and students.


About You


It is a requirement that you are an Accredited Exercise Physiologist registered with Exercise and Sports Science Australia. Demonstrating experience in exercise prescription for older adults, you will embrace the principles of Healthy & Active Ageing to improve health, wellness and quality of life. A customer service-oriented person who is committed to delivering person-centred care, you will possess strong decision making and problem resolution skills.


In addition to sound clinical abilities, you will be capable of participating in planning to achieve business goals and bring a positive attitude towards change management and team development.


All Southern Cross Care staff are required to hold a current police certificate for the purpose of employment in Aged Care.
